Overclocking 503+ with EDO memory?
Mainly because I wrote it long before boost::shared_ptr existed; any advantages it provides aren't worth the added effort of reinventing the wheel. But since I do have it, and it is both safer and faster than boost::shared_ptr for reference counted memory management, I continue to use it.

With two 8mb DIMMS installed your computer can interleave your memory giving your computer a 15% speed boost on top of the boost from the cache. Are you sure about this interleaving? My 7200/90 came with one 16Meg DIMM. Why would they do that, when they could have put in two 8 Meg DIMMs if it makes the computer

How Much Memory?
I just got my PS/2 Model 95 upped to 64MB of 60ns Kingston RAM, will ECC later on improve performance more, or does it just safeguard against bad memory better? All ECC memory does is correct 1 or 2 bit errors without halting the system. On 3 and 4 bit errors, the system is halted and requires a reboot.
